New Website, Big Mountain and Cappuccino

This first journal entry is a brief description of the new Peakview Website. This is actually the third Peakview site. I built the first one back in 1997.  The first two sites I built using Dreamweaver html coding software and obviously this involved an extensive learning curve.  Back in those days Wordpress and other "template" sites were still trying to figure things out. An online sheet music store needs certain functionality that at first was hard and sometimes impossible to code. Here are the ideal design elements that lead me to utilize Weebly.  Each composition needs to have an audio sample. Many online web design platforms do not allow for each page to have a unique audio track. This was a big plus for Weebly. Similarly each product needs to have a preview PDF score. Most platforms have this. Third, and this one took many years to develop - the ability to send an automatic email responder that contains the digital pdf files. Back in the day the only way to deliver the product was to have teh credit card company or PayPal send me a notice of payment then I would have to send an email with the products attached. This process seemed to take a lot of time and if I wasn't home the customer had do wait. European and Asian nations would have to wait until I woke up in the morning. Sometimes I would get phone calls in the middle of the night and I new what these callers wanted and they wanted in now.  The instant and automatic download was a huge improvement so that I can spend more time writing, practicing my trumpet and studying scores for my next conducting gig. I am planning for a spring 2020 grand opening for this new Peakview Website. Okay, let me tell you why we picked the name "Peakview".  My family and I currently live in Aurora, Colorado. Our house is on a hill and our living room has three picture windows that give us a spectacular view of Pikes Peak. Each morning my wife and make a frothy Cappuccino and watch the sun rise, first black, then turning red, then the sun hits the peak and turns it pink then orange, the some blue jays drink from the pond or some geese or ducks fly over head. As the sky streaks red and blue we have seen eagles, red tail hawks, blue herons from the lake and other interesting urban wildlife.  Right now the sky is dark and I can see many miles of lights in South Denver. I am waiting for my wife to come home from her orchestra rehearsal and I am looking forward to getting back to arranging more music and tomorrow mornings sunrise Cappuccino with Anna.
